This place is so good. I had the soup dumplings and the #2 off the menu. The portions were big which I appreciated and the broth was so flavorful and delicious. I would order both of these items again when coming back. The service wasn't great (waiter kept giving us funny looks and would question us whenever we asked for something (we were a group of 6 and we were split up initially and then asked to be sat together once tables opened up and he acted like that was a crazy ask, had to ask twice for water, etc)). The food, however, made it worth and I will be coming back.
Yum! Love their food here! Their kimchi is really flavorful and will leave your mouth feeling garlicky haha. Service was quick, there was lots of seating on a weekday evening!
Came here because I heard they have the best kimchi in town and I have to agree on that! The kimchi is on the spicier side but for some reason I couldn't stop eating it. It's packed with flavors and has a stronger garlic taste compared to other kimchi. You can order extra kimchi to go on a big container to keep in your fridge which is what we did. For 3 people, we only order 2 dishes which was the perfect amount for us considering the portion size. We ordered the knife cut noodle in chicken broth, such a simple, warm and comfortable dish to share on a cold day. Also ordered the bulgogi bibimbap which you can go wrong with. Service was good, we were lucky to have stopped by before the big dinner crowd. Don't expect too much from the restaurant ambiance but you can expect food to be delicious :)
I've been to the original MDK in Korea and this place is nearly identical! The kalguksu is delicious and it totally hits the spot, especially on a cold night. The broth is rich and flavorful, and it comes with a few dumplings as well as some ground meat. Noodles are a bit soft for my taste, not chewy like the ones you'd get from a street market. Their kimchi is nice and garlicky, pretty spicy (which I like) but it's not for everyone. Service was good and there was plenty of seating as well came early at 5pm.
I love this spot!! I've been coming for almost three years now and I used to come often for a 32oz of kimchi. BEST kimchi ever . My most recent visit, I tried the #10 Cold Spicy Kimchi (green?) Noodles. It honestly wasn't my favorite. I'd give it a 3/5, but regardless the staff are always prompt and I love their other menu items. I t's good to see that the restaurant is receiving more customers now. Ambiance is decent, wish the front door was open though lol.
Finally tried the famous MDK Noodles. Bf and I shared the spicy kalguksu and shrimp&pork dumplings. Both were delicious! The soup is spicy but their kimchi was spicier (but super flavorful). Their dumplings are AMAZING--loaded with fillings and dumpling skin was super thin; definitely will come back for them. We got lucky and found street parking right next to the restaurant (we came here around 6pm on Friday) but i believe there is a lot right across the street.
Sunday early lunch it was easy to seat a party of 7. We were given ice water and multiple sets of regular kimchi and white kimchi. We were all really surprised at how spicy the regular kinchi was! Food came out relatively quickly. I wasn't too hungry and was able to split the kalguksu with a friend where we were both just satisfied. I enjoy how these noodles are slightly thinner and how the soup has wood ear and dumplings! I would definitely come here again.
This place is bright and clean with lots of seating. We waited about 5 minutes before we got seated in a party of 5. I def recommend ordering the food family style bc the portions are shareable and huge. The majority of us couldn't finish our bowl of noodles. The pan fried dumplings were pretty good. The kimchi is a little bit on the spicy side. So if you get any of the spicy dishes, it's about the same level of spicy.
Great place for casual dining. No pretentiousness, it is what it is. Finding the place was easy, on the street corner, but parking seems to be mostly street parking, which is a bit of a hassle but not a deal breaker. The restaurant is super bright, the lighting could use some work but definitely nothing "shady" about it (pun intended). The food is solid, not the best I've had but definitely good for dinner with friends on a casual night, you can probably go in PJs or gym clothes. Convenient and large portions so if you want to eat a reasonable amount, I would recommend sharing 1 or 2 dishes with between 2 people or among 3 people to avoid overeating. I really liked their knife cut noodle in spicy chicken broth and dumpling soup, which has way more dumplings than I had expected. They're not stingy. Also lots of kimchi to go with it on the side. Overall, good experience, efficient service, although I did go at 9pm and they close at 9:30pm, so not sure about peak time crowd. Parking is the usual Ktown parking situation on the street. It's not fancy, but it's solidly delicious.
